Our 'EPIC' week at a glance

Day 1:  Taking control of manual settings. Photographers will be taught how to use their personal SLR cameras with more precision by understanding ISO, white balance, aperture, shutter speed and focus. Photographers will be taught composition to create fabulous shots. We will set out later in the morning to practice shooting manually.

Afternoon: How to shoot portraits (you be the model and you shoot the model) focus on lighting, aperture and shutter speed. Our portable portrait studio will be used through out the week as we develop more skills.

Day 2:  Our new site is located near the zoo and we want to take advantage of this opportunity to photograph the rich variety of plants, animals and landscape. Students will be asked to bring their zoo pass or a $15.00 admission fee.

Day 3:  How to create photographs that explore human values which are at the very core of expressive photography. The process of creating photographs to express our values lead to profound change in our understanding and develops critical thinking and self reflection. We all have a unique voice and point of view that we can share with others through our photographs.

Day 4:  Create a photo-essay from the photographs that you have created to symbolizes your values and portray dimensions of an issue. Synchronize to music that assists in the powerful story telling that has come from deeply exploring these concepts.

Day 5:  Create our personal art gallery to share with family and friends. At 2:00 pm we will share our photo-essay projects with family and friends.
